Sunrise. At sunset

The church tower and spire lights fire up on the first Sunday of Advent. The fanfare is Richard Strauss’s Sunrise, the accompaniment to the Dawn of Man sequence in Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey.
