Little drops of Living Water
Two new images of the Living Water font cover made by Victoria Walpole and photographed through a crystal ball to give a new view of the cover, nave and chancel (left) and computer enhanced to show it the right way up (centre). At the centre is a waterfall made from recycled piano keys.
In John 4 ; 10 Jesus says “ If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water".
Little Things poem is an inspirational poem about the value of living in the moment and about the power of small acts of kindness. Written in the 18th century by Julia Carney, the poem tells how little things change the world, and how each little effort matters.
The third image is of a commissioned marquetry and carved wood aumbry showing grape and grain also made by Victoria in memory of a member of the church. The detail (far right) shows how combining marquetry with hand carved forms can turn something relatively simple into a larger sculptural scene, matching the font cover.
