Desk commemorates civilian war dead

Mary and Doreen, daughters of Mr and Mrs W Barton, were killed when a German aircraft bombed Coleshill on the night of 11 December 1940.

They are remembered on the side of the vicar’s desk. Their story is told here and on the register of civilian deaths on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website. Click on the memorial certificates above for details.
