In Coleshill churchyard the poppies blow…

If Coleshill’s Two Rivers WI sighed with relief as their curtain of poppies slid up the north wall of the tower, imagine what hundreds of thousands of WW1 soldiers, sailors and airmen and their families must have felt as 105 years ago this weekend they began to realise they might get out of the conflict alive.

Many anonymous knitters and crocheters made poppies to enhance the curtain which remembers those who served in WW1 and conflicts since.
