Stay to find Pip, Squeak and Wilfred

Coleshill Town Band leads the parade after the 2023 Remembrance service at the parish church.

It pays to stay a while after the Remembrance event to see how Coleshill crafters remembered. Far left above is the altar with its memorial to the 19 years old brothers John and Robert Willmot, killed in WW1, and the altar cloth covered in hand made poppy decorations.

Coleshill library knitting group made the eternal wreath, others made the poppy cascade. The knitted soldier appears to bow his head. The drum on the font is a feature most years.

A crowded event is the norm since Trooper James Munday died, with standing room inside (right), through the west door, and the Upper Room full, too. Last year wet weather forced the event inside. Compare the wet scene far right to the scene a day earlier held under clear skies.
